How Do Heat Pumps work?
A heat pump can be used in conjunction with, or in place of a furnace. It is basically an air conditioner that runs forward and in reverse, meaning it can both heat and cool your home.
Through the Seasons
In cooler months, a heat pump pulls heat from the cold outdoor air and transfers it indoors. In warmer months, it pulls heat out of the indoor air to cool your home.
Benefits of a Heat Pump
Heat pumps are powered by electricity and use the refrigeration cycle to transfer heat, providing comfort all year round. They do not burn fossil fuels like furnaces, making them more environmentally friendly and eligible for many government grants, aimed at reducing your carbon footprint.
